GEORGIA MUSIC EVENTS Steve Vai live @ Cox Capital Theatre in Macon, Georgia Nov 28 @ 7pm

While many musicians fit easily into a single category, Steve Vai’s unique musical vision remains unclassifiable. After more than 20 years, Vai continues to use unbridled guitar virtuosity and soulful artistry to explore the spectrum of human emotion.

From his self-released solo debut “Flex-Able” (1984) to his most recent “Alive In An Ultra World” (2001, Epic), Vai creates a sound all his own by striking a balance between technical ability and poetic phrasing. “I make music to push my own buttons,” explains Vai. “I’ve always been driven by an addiction to create sounds that are unique – not better than what other people do, just different.” … More GEORGIA MUSIC EVENTS Steve Vai live @ Cox Capital Theatre in Macon, Georgia Nov 28 @ 7pm

Many fans have described their funky vibrations as a blend of funky rhythm, heavy guitars and expressive R&B singing. LUMBER CITY GEORGIA MUSICIAN Lance Stinson, Mar 17 – Lance Stinson St. Patrick’s Day on Riverfront – Savannah, GA

Lance Stinson hails from Lumber City, a South Georgia town with a little more than a thousand people. Childhood was a character-building mix of rural life and hard work. Lance and his four older brothers grew up on his parents’ farm.
His first musical memories came through the speakers of his dad’s ’79 Ford pickup. The eight-track gave him a good dose of Keith Whitley, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Conway Twitty and Merle Haggard, whose “Rainbow Stew” remains a favorite.

“Dad was a big Hank Sr. fan,” he says, “and my older brothers liked Hank Jr., so I picked up a love for both. My brothers were also fans of a lot of the ’80s rockers like Def Leppard and Poison, and I wound up with a little of that in the mix too.” … More LUMBER CITY GEORGIA MUSICIAN Lance Stinson, Mar 17 – Lance Stinson St. Patrick’s Day on Riverfront – Savannah, GA
